Arranging the Funeral
The staff of William Jardine have been carefully trained to cope with the duties and emotional upset that losing someone brings. The actual arrangements can be made at your home or in our office, - whichever you prefer and at a time to suit you. The funeral director can arrange as much, or as little for you as you like, - but the one thing he or she cannot do is the registration procedure, as legally, this must be carried out by the next of kin or their representative. Contact the Registrar in Dumfries on 01387 245907 to make an appointment and please ensure that you take along the death certificate with you. Your funeral director will provide you with a helpful sheet to assist you.

Thanking people for coming
Given the emotional strain placed upon families, it is wise to meet people PRIOR to a service, - rather than at the conclusion. You will find you have more time to chat at that point, - and you and everyone else will not be drained by the content of the service. After a service, - the last thing people need is to be faced with grieving mourners, compounding an already traumatic occasion.

Chapel of Rest
Our Chapel of Rest in Terregles Street, Dumfries seats up to 200 people, - with each pew seating up to eight people, - and there is plenty of standing room available. The stunning picture windows are our centre piece, -providing plenty of talking points. Our car-park can take up to 70 cars, - with private parking for the immediate family located behind the hearse at the rear of the chapel. The chapel can host religious and secular services and we have an excellent sound system and keyboard.
Our family room is essentially for the next of kin and can accommodate up to six people comfortably. It allows the immediate family members time for reflection and a chance to escape from what can be for many people, - an extremely intimidating experience. It is important that the sanctity of the family room is preserved, - and other family members should be encouraged to make their way into the main chapel.
